Pyrotechnics Law: penalties increased, rules tightened

Changes have been made to the legislation regarding the use of pyrotechnic devices in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the new regulations, the amount of fines for violations will increase significantly. Previously, under the existing rules, fines for such offenses ranged from a minimum of 2.4 million soums up to 7 million soums, whereas under the newly adopted law, fines will increase from 7.1 million soums to 11.8 million soums.
On January 13, the President of Uzbekistan signed the law "On the circulation of pyrotechnic products." According to this document, individuals who use pyrotechnic devices unlawfully will be held administratively liable and the items involved in the violation will be confiscated.
Additionally, the amount of fines will now range from 15 to 25 times the base calculation amount (BHM). Previously, this range was from 5 to 20 times the BHM.
The new law classifies pyrotechnic devices into 4 categories based on their level of danger. Devices classified as Class I, such as sparklers, firecrackers, and small fountains, are permitted for use.
Manufacturing, selling, importing, and using these devices is legal for both individuals and legal entities. However, pyrotechnic products classified as Classes II to V are strictly prohibited.
This category includes powerful salutes and large explosive pyrotechnic products. The use of these products requires enhanced safety measures.
The new requirements of the law will come into effect on April 14, 2026. Therefore, it is important to comply with the law regarding the use of pyrotechnic devices.
Using devices permitted within Class I poses no problems, but any actions deviating from the established rules may result in serious fines and confiscation of items.
