Uzbekistan became one of the founders of the Peace Council
On January 22, 2023, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, participated in the signing ceremony of the "Peace Council" charter in Davos, Switzerland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The event was held under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump. Leaders and high-ranking representatives from various regions of the world, including Argentina, Armenia, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Morocco, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay, Pakistan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Hungary, attended the ceremony.

According to the President's press service, the establishment of the "Peace Council" aligns with Uzbekistan's foreign policy directions and is aimed at strengthening peace and developing multilateral cooperation. This new structure is supported by the UN Security Council and is being formed within the framework of a comprehensive plan to resolve conflicts in the Gaza Strip.

The main goal of the Council is to reduce the risk of escalation of the conflict and to create favorable conditions for economic and social recovery in the Gaza Strip. This, in turn, increases the possibility of building a "New Gaza" and, in the long term, establishing a Palestinian state.

During the event, Uzbekistan was recognized as a founding state of the "Peace Council." The Council includes prominent leaders from various countries.

Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to consistently participate in the activities of this Council and to implement the Council's powers in cooperation with international partners. Source: zamin.uz.
