Uzbekistan explained the reasons for joining the Peace Council

Abdulaziz Komilov, advisor on foreign policy to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, provided a detailed explanation regarding the country's decision to join the Peace Council. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, this decision is primarily related to security issues and does not contradict the priority directions of foreign policy. Komilov stated that three main factors influenced this decision.
The first is security matters from the perspective of national interests, the second is that the goals and objectives of the Peace Council align with Uzbekistan's foreign policy principles, and the third is that the country has significant interests in the Middle East region. Komilov emphasized that one of the important directions of this initiative is to resolve the military and economic crisis in the Gaza Strip.
It was also noted that this initiative was proposed by US President Donald Trump. The advisor pointed out that the situation in the Middle East is not limited solely to economic or diplomatic interests but that these changes directly affect global and national security as well.
Komilov also touched upon the threats of extremism. He noted that there have been cases where some Uzbek citizens joined extremist groups and later returned to the country, and the state has created conditions for their reintegration into society.
This approach has been recognized internationally and highly appreciated by the UN leadership. It was also noted that the situation in the Middle East could impact the security of Afghanistan.
Komilov called on the international community, including the US, Arab and Muslim countries, as well as Central Asian states, to act together. It was emphasized that the activities of the Uzbek leader within the framework of the Peace Council will enhance the country's prestige on the international stage.
It was reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an agreement on this issue with Donald Trump during the World Economic Forum in Davos. In conclusion, Uzbekistan joined the Peace Council based on the logic of security and national interests.
This approach is aimed at ensuring the country's long-term security.
