A new toll road will be built between Khiva and Urgench

A new toll road connecting the cities of Khiva and Urgench in the Khorezm region is planned to be constructed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this project, a 49-kilometer-long highway will be built. According to the press service of the Khiva city administration, the project aims to improve the regional transport system and create a modern road infrastructure that meets international standards.
The new road will serve as an alternative to the existing Khiva highway (D215), starting from the intersection of Elobod and Nurli Hayot streets and extending to Urgench International Airport. The route is planned to bypass the regional center from the south and east.
This road is expected to ease vehicle traffic, reduce travel time between the cities, enhance transport safety, and accelerate the process of cargo and passenger transportation. Additionally, the project is said to contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of the Khorezm region.
This initiative was presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 14 during a meeting dedicated to tourism, transport, and social infrastructure development issues. At this meeting, the construction of a new railway line connecting the Urgench railway station with the airport was also discussed.
