Tax discipline was criticized at the "Malika" market

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed a sharp stance on issues related to tax discipline at the "Malika" market in Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of state criticized the disorder in the market's operations and emphasized the necessity to promptly resolve the problems there. According to him, the situation in the market has become "one thing on paper, another in practice."
According to the information, only 25 percent of the 1,500 entrepreneurs operating in the market are officially registered. Even more serious is the fact that only a quarter of those registered pay taxes amounting to just 1 million soms per month.
During the inspections, another important fact was revealed: in December, hidden turnover of 600 billion soms through plastic cards was recorded in the market. This figure poses a serious threat to the economy because such hidden turnovers undermine fair competition.
In response to this situation, the activities of the tax authorities in Tashkent city were assessed as unsatisfactory. According to the inspection results, appropriate personnel measures have been taken against the responsible officials.
The head of state set a clear position on this matter: the main goal is to ensure transparency, support fair competition, and establish strict control. It was also emphasized that the same rules must apply to everyone, and no one should have an advantage by evading taxes.
