New Rules Approved for Telecommunication Services

The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Technologies have jointly approved new rules for telecommunication services. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These rules are aimed at creating convenience for subscribers, ensuring that services are fair and understandable. Below is a brief summary of the main changes in this document.
The first update – the period before a subscriber number is "deactivated" has been extended to one year. Even if there are insufficient funds in the subscriber's account, their number will be retained for one year instead of two months as before.
The second convenience – the possibility to change the tariff plan free of charge has been introduced. Now subscribers can switch to any tariff plan without any additional payment.
Only some special tariffs are excluded from this. The third change – when tariff conditions change, subscribers must be notified at least 15 days in advance.
This prevents unexpected price changes. The fourth update – to create convenience for residents in remote areas, mobile services will be provided on the move.
For citizens who cannot visit service points, mobile communication services will be delivered to their place of residence. According to the fifth rule, deliberately allowing the account to go into debt is prohibited.
From now on, during tariff payments and service activation, subscribers' accounts cannot accumulate debt.
The sixth update – free round-the-clock calls to the trust phone lines of the President's virtual reception have been enabled.
The seventh change – the process of transferring subscriber numbers to another network has been significantly accelerated. Now this process takes 20 minutes instead of 8 working hours.
The eighth update – the subscription procedure for paid services will be strictly controlled. Automatic activation of services or converting free services into paid ones without the subscriber's consent is prohibited.
Also, all paid services must initially be inactive. These rules will come into effect on April 27.
If fully implemented, many inconveniences for subscribers will be eliminated. Most importantly, services will become more transparent and convenient.
