The increase in meat prices is causing difficulties for the population

The price of meat in Uzbekistan is rising again, significantly impacting the daily expenses of the population. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Last year, the prices of beef and lamb also sharply increased. According to experts, in 2025, the rise in meat prices exceeded the overall inflation rates.
At the same time, local meat production rates have slowed down, while import volumes have increased. This situation has intensified additional pressure on market prices.
In January 2026, meat prices continue to rise. In particular, the prices of beef and lamb in major markets in Tashkent have increased again over the past month.
Especially, a significant increase is observed in lamb prices. This negatively affects the purchasing power of the population.
According to experts, if meat production volume is not increased and the balance between supply and demand in the market is not ensured, the price growth may continue in the coming months. This situation may adversely affect the living standards of the population.
