Flood risk declared in mountainous areas

Meteorologists have issued a warning for the coming days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Due to expected precipitation and changes in air temperature on February 24–25, 2026, there is a risk of flash floods in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan. Specifically, in Tashkent region, the risk level is expected to be high in the districts of Bostanliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron (Chotqol mountain range).
Additionally, an avalanche risk has been warned for Pop district in Namangan region. Furthermore, on February 26–27, 2026, due to precipitation and temperature changes, flood risk has been announced for the following areas: in Kashkadarya region, the districts of Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, and Shahrisabz; and in Surkhandarya region, the districts of Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, and Uzun.
There is also a risk in the districts of Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarkand, and Urgut in Samarkand region. In Jizzakh region, the districts of Baxmal and Zomin also have a possibility of flash floods.
Experts are urging residents living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers of vehicles moving through these regions to take precautionary measures. It is recommended to remain cautious until favorable weather conditions return.
