Digital services will expand in Uzbekistan in 2026

From March 1, 2026, new regulations came into effect in various fields of legislation and practice in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These changes cover a wide range of areas including digitalization, business, customs, notary, social protection, ecology, and tourism. According to local publications, these innovations, effective from March, are aimed at simplifying services for citizens, streamlining procedures for entrepreneurs, and strengthening state control.
One of the most important updates is the expansion of the scope of digital services. Citizens will now be able to edit information related to their place of residence and details about persons registered at their dwelling through the Unified Interactive State Services Portal.
Additionally, a QR-coded certificate confirming a death will be automatically sent to the personal accounts of close relatives. New regulations have also been introduced, such as obtaining certain court information online and selling tickets for football matches through identification.
These changes bring state services closer to digital convenience and away from paperwork. New requirements have also been introduced for foreign citizens.
A certification system based on CEFR standards to determine the level of Uzbek language proficiency is now in operation. This document officially confirms the level of knowledge of the state language.
Thus, language issues for foreigners are becoming linked to more official and precise criteria. Several innovations have also come into effect in the business sector.
The “Business Companion” project was launched based on the “single window” principle. New formats for communication between heads of government agencies and entrepreneurs have been introduced.
In the “License” system, the possibility of preliminary assessment of compliance with requirements before submitting documents has been created. These changes help make the process clearer for entrepreneurs and more orderly for the government.
Certain benefits are also envisaged for young entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals. A mechanism for compensating infrastructure connection costs has been introduced.
Taxi drivers operating electric vehicles will receive a 10 percent discount on social tax and the opportunity to use state parking lots free of charge for up to 30 minutes. This serves to encourage “green” transport and support small-scale activity.
Updated procedures are also in effect in customs and public procurement. The customs clearance fee for preliminary declaration before the arrival of goods has been reduced by 20 percent.
This creates economic relief for entrepreneurs and speeds up customs procedures.
