Uzbekistan ranks 14th in terms of gold reserves size

Uzbekistan's gold reserves have reached 390.3 tons, ranking 14th in the world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information is presented in the World Gold Council report. At the same time, Uzbekistan surpassed Portugal and Kazakhstan by purchasing 7.8 tons of precious metal in 2025.
Between 2020 and 2025, the total purchase amounted to 54.4 tons. Globally, Poland became the leader in gold purchases in 2025, with the country's Central Bank accumulating nearly 102 tons of gold over the year.
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan follow in the next positions. Brazil and Turkey are also among the top five.
The price of gold has also increased significantly: at the beginning of 2025, one ounce of gold was approximately $2,800, while at the beginning of 2026 it exceeded $5,000. Last year, Singapore and Russia were the main sellers, while in the long term, China has remained the largest buyer since 2020 with 358 tons.
The largest gold reserve is held by the United States, totaling 8,100 tons. As of February 1, 2026, Uzbekistan's gold and foreign currency reserves reached $75 billion, of which $65 billion accounts for the value of gold reserves.
If this trend continues, Uzbekistan has a great potential to rise even higher in the rankings.
