Mirziyoyev and the UAE President discussed the Middle East

On March 4, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a phone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the escalating situation in the Middle East region and the intensification of conflicts and disputes are causing serious concern. The parties noted that such unfortunate incidents during the month of Ramadan contradict the principles of international law.
The urgent need to stop actions that disrupt peace and stability was specially highlighted. President Mirziyoyev expressed that Uzbekistan stands together with its strategic partner, the United Arab Emirates, in this difficult situation.
He also expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Uzbek citizens residing in the Emirates and for the measures being taken to repatriate them. The leader of the Emirates, in turn, thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his support and spirit of solidarity.
