Flood risk declared in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan

O'zgidromet specialists have warned that due to expected precipitation on March 7, 9, and 10, floods and flash floods may occur in the foothill and mountainous regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The risk mainly concerns certain districts of the Qashqadaryo, Surxondaryo, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions. Residents living in these areas, citizens vacationing in mountainous regions, and drivers are urged to take precautionary measures.
Heavy rains increase the likelihood of water accumulation and flooding of roads. The precipitation observed on March 4 and 5 also caused rising water levels in some streams and water pooling on roads.
At that time, Emergency Situations Ministry personnel promptly addressed all adverse situations. Specialists call on citizens moving in mountainous areas to monitor weather updates and strictly follow safety rules.
Residents in areas at risk of flooding are advised to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of their homes and loved ones. The information is provided on the one.uz website.
