The punishment system for criminals in Uzbekistan has been strengthened

A new presidential decree has been adopted in Uzbekistan to improve criminal-executive legislation and regulate the punishment system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This document envisages changing the procedure for serving sentences for certain prisoners who pose a danger to society. In particular, strict restrictions have been introduced for individuals who have committed serious crimes against minors.
From now on, such criminals will not be transferred to correctional colonies, which ensures that their sentences are served under stricter supervision. At the same time, the practice of providing lenient conditions for prisoners who committed these crimes has been discontinued.
Such individuals will not have the right to serve their sentences under a lighter regime without successfully completing special psychological correction programs. These measures are aimed at reducing crime and increasing the efficiency of the punishment system.
