Prices of pilaf vary by region in Uzbekistan

The National Statistics Committee announced the plov index for the month of February. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Through this index, the average prices of the main ingredients required to prepare our national dish, plov, were studied across the regions of Uzbekistan. This data shows variations depending on the economic conditions of the regions and the supply of products.
In Tashkent city, the average price of plov was 118,381 soums. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, this figure was 98,927 soums.
In Andijan region, it was 106,984 soums; in Bukhara region, 109,455 soums; in Jizzakh region, 110,160 soums; in Kashkadarya region, 112,980 soums; in Navoi region, 111,508 soums; in Namangan region, 109,704 soums; in Samarkand region, 114,383 soums; in Surkhandarya region, 112,292 soums; in Syrdarya region, 105,337 soums; in Tashkent region, 113,602 soums; in Fergana region, 116,256 soums; and in Khorezm region, 108,103 soums. Specialists take into account the average market prices of meat, rice, carrots, onions, vegetable oil, and other additional ingredients when calculating the plov index.
This indicator is important for assessing the purchasing power of the population and ensuring food security. Compared to the previous period, prices have remained stable in some regions, while seasonal changes have been observed in others.
