Customs privileges are granted to cosmetics manufacturers in Uzbekistan

New opportunities are opening up for enterprises producing cosmetics and biologically active supplements in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the presidential decree adopted on March 5, 2026, from April 1, customs privileges will be granted to manufacturers operating in this sector. This decision is regarded as an important step not only for industry representatives but also for the local market and investment environment.
Under the new regulation, enterprises producing cosmetics and biologically active supplements will be granted the same benefits previously applied to the pharmaceutical sector. This will allow entrepreneurs to reduce import costs, facilitate the import of modern equipment, and expand production volumes.
Among the essential products are technological and laboratory equipment not produced in Uzbekistan, their components, and spare parts. Additionally, "clean rooms" for production buildings, sandwich panels, ventilation systems, raw materials and supplies, medical items, as well as packaging materials are included in the privileged list.
These products will be exempt from customs duties until January 1, 2028, based on a list approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev specifically addressed this issue at the meeting held on March 5.
The head of state emphasized the need to exempt cosmetics and biologically active supplement manufacturers from customs payments on imported raw materials and equipment. Furthermore, pharmaceutical enterprises were permitted to produce biologically active supplements on their own production lines.
The new privileges, effective from April 1, will create significant opportunities for cosmetics and biologically active supplement manufacturers. If this decision proves effective, the number of new brands and enterprises in this sector in Uzbekistan may increase in the coming years.
This will be a beneficial process for both the economy and consumers.
