The number of women in Uzbekistan has exceeded eighteen million

According to official data calculated from the first day of 2026, i.e., the beginning of January, the number of women living in our country has exceeded eighteen million seven hundred and seventy thousand. Zamin.uz reported on this matter.
This figure accounts for nearly half of the permanent population, specifically 49.6 percent. These important statistical data were announced by the National Statistics Committee and help to gain a deeper understanding of the demographic situation in our society.
Analyzing data broken down by regions, Samarkand region holds the leading position among all areas in terms of the number of women. Two million one hundred and seventy-seven thousand women reside in this historical and cultural center.
Following places among the regions are Fergana region, a leading area of the Fergana Valley, with two million ninety-one thousand women, and Kashkadarya region, which stands out with one million eight hundred and thirty-one thousand women. On the other hand, in areas with lower population density, the number of women is also recorded at relatively low figures.
For example, four hundred and seventy thousand women live in Sirdaryo region, while five hundred and forty-eight thousand women reside in Navoiy region. These figures are of great importance for understanding regional development and population distribution.
Furthermore, by February 7, 2026, the total permanent population of our country reached thirty million forty thousand five hundred and twenty. It was determined that within this large population, nineteen million twelve thousand three hundred and sixty-eight are women, while the remainder, namely nineteen million two hundred and eighty-seven thousand one hundred and thirty-two, are men.
These figures demonstrate the gender balance in our society. Another serious and joyful news in the field of demographics is that during the past year of 2025, a total of eight hundred and seventy-nine thousand six hundred newborns were born in the regions of Uzbekistan.
The highest results in terms of birth rates were again recorded in Samarkand and Fergana regions. This indicates the strength of our country's future and youth potential.
