A new $80 million Congress Hall is being built in Xiva.

The historic city of Khiva has embarked on a rapid path to improve its tourism and international event infrastructure. Zamin.uz reported this.
To transform this ancient city into a leading hub for forums, business meetings, and cultural gatherings from around the world, a major project worth nearly $70 million is being implemented. At the heart of this initiative stands the construction of a modern Congress Hall meeting world standards for international delegations and high-level meetings.
The erection of this building will further enhance the city's international significance. In addition to the Congress Hall, as part of the project, a new area is being created based on the Eternal City concept, reflecting Khiva's rich historical heritage in a modern style.
To increase the number of visitors and provide them with high-quality service, a new three-star hotel is also being built for an investment of 150 billion soums. This development is expected to sharply increase the city's investment attractiveness, create numerous new jobs for the local population, and strengthen the service sector.
Construction work in the area began in mid-January of this year, and the project has now successfully moved to its second phase. According to the current development schedule, main construction works are planned to be completed by July 15 of next summer.
The entire complex is expected to be fully operational and ready to receive guests by mid-August 2026. By harmoniously integrating modern infrastructure with traditional aesthetics, Khiva aims to solidify its status not only as a cultural tourism center but also as a prestigious venue for international communication and professional networking.
These efforts will serve to transform the city into one of Central Asia's most important diplomatic and economic capitals in the future.
