The service sector in Uzbekistan increased by twenty-seven percent.

Since the beginning of the century, the service sector in Uzbekistan has been developing rapidly. Zamin.uz reported on this.
Specifically, in January 2026, the total volume of accommodation and catering services across the country reached nearly thirteen trillion eight hundred billion soums. This indicator increased by twenty-seven percent compared to the same period last year, indicating growing activity in various sectors of the economy.
According to experts, the intensification of tourism flows and increased public interest in domestic travel played a decisive role in achieving such positive results. Additionally, the expansion of hotel and restaurant infrastructure has been significant in increasing demand for services.
People are traveling more, seeking to try various dishes and utilize leisure venues. When analyzed by region, the highest results were traditionally recorded in the capital city of Tashkent.
There, the volume of accommodation and catering services amounted to two trillion six hundred billion soums. The large number of service facilities in the capital and their high quality contributed to this indicator.
Qashqadaryo and Samarkand regions took second place, with the volume of services in both areas equaling one trillion seven hundred billion soums. In Samarkand, tourism development was the main factor, while in Qashqadaryo it was the rise of the local economy.
Namangan and Fergana regions also joined the ranks of sector leaders by providing services worth one trillion four hundred billion and one trillion three hundred billion soums, respectively. Stable growth continues in regions such as Tashkent region, Andijan, Bukhara, and Khorezm.
Although indicators in the remaining regions are relatively lower, the overall situation is changing positively. Demand for services is gradually increasing in Surxondaryo, Navoiy, and Sirdaryo regions as well.
These figures clearly show that the service sector in Uzbekistan is becoming one of the main driving forces of the economy. If this growth rate is maintained, in the future this sector will make a significant contribution to creating new jobs and improving the living standards of the population.
By fully unlocking international and local tourism potential, the country's economy will be further strengthened.
