Interaction between traffic police and drivers is being regulated.

A new draft document is being developed to regulate communication between vehicle drivers and Road Patrol Service officers on the roads of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Zamin.uz reported this.
The changes proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers are primarily aimed at making the inspection process more transparent and further improving the monitoring of compliance with traffic rules. The goal is to significantly reduce the number of misunderstandings and disputes arising between drivers and control officers.
Under the new regulations, more precise rules will be introduced regarding the operating principles of mobile devices and portable photo radar equipment used to detect violations. This will help standardize control practices and guarantee the legality of each inspection.
Specifically, a Road Patrol Service representative stopping a vehicle at the roadside must first explain to the driver what violation has been committed. Only after this will documents be checked and a decision taken on appropriate measures.
The draft also clearly defines the procedure for using breathalyzers, drug detection devices, and other special equipment. All technical devices must have a valid certificate.
Upon the driver's request, the officer is required to show these documents. If there are doubts about the inspection results, the driver has the right to request the device's calibration certificate.
This increases the reliability of the results and helps eliminate unnecessary doubts. As expected, if adopted, these innovations will increase efficiency in ensuring road safety.
At the same time, a clear legal basis will be established for relations between drivers and officers. Officials express confidence that these amendments will make the control process fair and understandable for all road users, as well as help prevent unnecessary conflicts.
