Uzbekistan's doors are wide open for tourists: A new era of opportunities has begun!
On May 15, 2025, an important decree aimed at further developing the tourism sector, significantly increasing the flow of foreign tourists to the country, and expanding the scope of tourism services was signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to this decree, starting from June 1, 2025, a visa-free entry procedure will be implemented for citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman. Now, citizens of these countries will have the opportunity to travel visa-free across Uzbekistan for 30 days from the day they visit Uzbekistan. This step aims to enhance Uzbekistan's tourist attractiveness and strengthen its competitiveness in the international tourism market.

Another important aspect of the decree is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with implementing a procedure for citizens of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan to enter Uzbekistan with internal documents or ID cards within three months. This is intended to further improve relations with neighboring countries and increase the flow of tourists. Additionally, a special "kinder passport" will be provided for young people under the age of 16 to facilitate their travel.

According to the presidential decree, another important task lies ahead for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It involves starting negotiations on the implementation of a 30-day visa-free entry procedure for U.S. citizens to Uzbekistan, as well as accelerating efforts to simplify visa requirements for Uzbeks traveling to the U.S. Proposals on this matter will be prepared within three months and presented to the President.

Furthermore, the Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to assign local authorities to specific regions within two weeks to increase the number of tourists coming from European Union countries, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Gulf states.

This will strengthen cooperation between local governments and Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad, and specific programs will be developed to attract foreign tourists to each region. Regional programs will be approved in accordance with established procedures, and international cooperation in the tourism sector will be further expanded.

This decree is expected to usher in a new era for Uzbekistan's tourism sector, significantly contributing to the development of the country's economy, the creation of new jobs, and the enhancement of Uzbekistan's international reputation.

The Zamin.uz editorial team is closely monitoring this important reform process in our country. What other measures would you suggest to increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan?
