Today, April 12, an earthquake was recorded in the territory of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Republican Center for Seismoprognostic Monitoring provided official information on this matter. According to specialists, the natural phenomenon was observed at 14:54 in the afternoon.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 249 kilometers southeast of the capital city, Tashkent. Its magnitude was 3, and its focus formed at a depth of 10 kilometers in the Earth's crust.
According to geographic coordinates, the tremor occurred in the Quva district of the Fergana Valley. The impact of the natural phenomenon was felt with varying intensity in several regions of our republic.
Specifically, in the Quva district, which was close to the epicenter, residents felt the tremor with a strength of 2-3 points. Vibrations were also recorded in neighboring areas.
In particular, the earthquake strength was 2 points in the Shahrixon, Toshloq, Buston, and Asaka districts. Currently, monitoring work is being continued by the relevant services regarding this situation in these regions.
According to preliminary data, no casualties or serious destruction were observed as a result of the earthquake. There have been no reports of injuries among the population.
