Housewives will also have the opportunity to receive maternity benefits

Important changes are being introduced to further improve the social protection system in Uzbekistan. Zamin.uz reported on this.
From now on, housewives will also have the opportunity to benefit from pregnancy and childbirth allowances. This new regulation is expected to be implemented starting from 2026.
Under the previous system, these allowances were primarily designated for women employed in official workplaces. Now, women caring for their families at home will also be able to utilize social insurance opportunities.
To do this, citizens must officially register themselves as self-employed persons and connect to the state's social insurance system. According to the new regulation, certain conditions must be met to acquire the right to receive the allowance.
Specifically, housewives must pay insurance premiums in the amount of 63,550 soums every month. Additionally, these payments must have been made continuously for at least ten months.
Women who join this system and make the designated payments regularly will be eligible to receive an allowance of up to 4 million soums during pregnancy and childbirth in the future. This measure serves to strengthen the social protection of housewives and improve their financial situation.
This news is an important step toward recognizing the role of women in society and providing them with decent social guarantees. These benefits being introduced by the state will help families raise children and ensure a more peaceful motherhood period.
