Travel abroad by Uzbek citizens has significantly increased

The number of trips abroad made by Uzbek citizens shows a clear upward trend. According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, in January, February and March 2026 a total of more than 1.63 million of our compatriots travelled to other countries for tourism purposes. This means that the indicator increased by 111.6 thousand people compared with the same period last year.
An analysis of travel destinations shows that Uzbek citizens predominantly prefer to visit neighbouring countries. In particular, Kyrgyzstan has become the most popular destination, with more than 660 thousand tourists travelling there. Kazakhstan and Tajikistan also occupy high positions in terms of the number of visitors.
Saudi Arabia, in the framework of religious and recreational travel, also entered the list of most chosen destinations. In addition, high interest was observed in countries such as Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, China, Thailand and Egypt. This indicates that the opportunities for our compatriots to travel around the world are expanding.
At the same time, Uzbekistan itself is also becoming an international tourist centre. During the reporting period, more than 2.87 million foreign tourists from 164 countries of the world visited our country. These figures show that the tourism potential of Uzbekistan is growing and its attractiveness on the international stage is increasing.
