Three Million Tourists Visited Uzbekistan in Three Months

The results of the first quarter of 2026 showed a significant growth in Uzbekistan's tourism sector, as reported by Zamin.uz. During a video-selector meeting chaired by the Head of State, it was announced that nearly 3 million foreign tourists visited the country in the first three months of this year.
This figure indicates that the reforms in the sector are yielding positive results. Most notably, the export volume of tourism services reached 1 billion 103 million dollars.
This result is considered one of the highest indicators in recent years. The meeting highlighted that such growth is largely influenced by the increasing global demand for safe and stable destinations.
Consequently, it was emphasized that Uzbekistan must utilize its tourism potential more effectively. Furthermore, efforts to develop the country's rich historical heritage, cultural monuments, and new tourist destinations must be accelerated.
Responsible officials were tasked with working actively in an environment of increasing international competition for every tourist. From now on, clear and comprehensive plans to enhance tourism opportunities will be developed for each district.
It was established that all leaders must pre-assess potential risks and operate based on multiple scenarios. Strict requirements were placed on regional and district governors to completely innovate their working methods.
Within a short period, instructions were given to take measures to increase economic efficiency by involving representatives of science, university scholars, and young entrepreneurs. In this process, creating new jobs and increasing public income should be the primary criteria.
During the meeting, the performance of some regional leaders was also criticized. Specifically, it was strongly condemned that an entrepreneurship project in the city of Nurafshan has remained unimplemented for two years, with local officials showing negligence instead of solving the problem.
Strict instructions were issued to end such situations and ensure the timely completion of every project.
