Uzbekistan and Guinea-Bissau Establish Diplomatic Relations

The Republic of Uzbekistan has taken another significant step toward strengthening ties with the global community and enhancing its prestige on the international stage. According to Zamin.uz, as a result of active foreign policy, the number of our country's diplomatic partners has increased by one.
In New York, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, Ulugbek Lapasov, and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to the UN, Samba Sané, met and signed a joint document on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. This agreement not only creates a legal framework for official relations between the two countries but also paves the way for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in various fields.
During the ceremony, the parties expressed their readiness to support each other within the United Nations and its specialized agencies. The meeting also included detailed discussions on intensifying bilateral dialogue and identifying promising areas for the development of economic and cultural ties.
The Republic of Guinea-Bissau has become the 168th state to establish official diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan. This milestone demonstrates that our country is pursuing an open and pragmatic foreign policy, striving for equal cooperation with all regions of the world.
Such agreements not only expand the circle of Uzbekistan's friends and partners internationally but also further enhance the capacity to protect national interests on a global scale. In recent years, Uzbekistan's foreign policy activities have intensified significantly.
Our country is establishing ties not only with immediate neighbors but also with states in distant regions such as Africa and Latin America. The document signed with Guinea-Bissau is a logical continuation of these consistent reforms.
Now, representatives of both states will be able to jointly promote initiatives that serve common interests within the framework of international organizations.
