President visits new gastronomic tourism street in Tashkent

On April 23 of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a gastronomic tourism destination established on Uzbekistan Ovozi Street in the Mirzo Ulugbek district. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The project was implemented as part of the execution of the President's decree dated April 30, 2022, aimed at further expanding and improving domestic tourism services. The facility, renovated in cooperation with leading Russian design bureaus, is scheduled for full commissioning in September 2025.
All modern amenities for residents and guests have been created on this street, which has a total length of more than two kilometers. Specifically, wide pedestrian and bicycle paths, special photo zones, open-air sports grounds, and ecological recreation areas for children have been built.
A total of 40 billion soums was spent on the implementation of the project. Currently, 165 retail and service outlets have started operating in the area, more than half of which have switched to 24/7 operations.
This has provided permanent jobs for more than two thousand citizens. According to the analysis of tourist and gastronomic streets in Tashkent, 26 streets of the capital were switched to a 24-hour operation system last year.
540 billion soums were allocated for these works, and more than a thousand new service facilities were opened. As a result, the number of service users increased several times, reaching 200,000 people per day.
Additionally, employment for six thousand people was ensured in this sector. This year, it is planned to organize 18 more new tourist streets in Tashkent, launch 500 new venues, and create about 7,000 jobs.
The head of state gave specific instructions to officials on the effective use of existing opportunities in the Mirzo Ulugbek district, raising the quality of services to the level of international requirements, and attracting new investment projects. The ultimate goal is to increase the tourism potential of the capital and enhance the well-being of the population.
