Discounts on internal travel tickets for teachers are introduced
A new charitable initiative is being launched in Uzbekistan to appropriately recognize the hard work of teachers and educators and to create additional opportunities for them to enrich their cultural leisure. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Currently, the most distinguished and dedicated educators in our country will have the opportunity to purchase air and rail transport tickets at discounted prices for traveling across the republic within domestic tourism programs. A draft government resolution establishing this procedure has been announced for public discussion.
According to the draft document, this preferential system is planned to be implemented starting from the 2026–2027 academic year. Under it, teachers and educators working in specific educational institutions will be entitled to use this benefit once a year.
Specifically, staff of general education schools and preschool education organizations that ranked in the strong hundred in the republic’s official rating will be included in this list. Additionally, teachers from vocational education institutions that ranked in the top twenty in the national rating, as well as professors and teachers from higher education institutions that entered the strong ten, will also be able to purchase preferential tickets.
According to the established procedure, educators will receive a 15% discount on the price of economy-class, platzkart, or coupe tickets for air and rail transport. It should be noted separately that this discount does not apply to modern high-speed trains.
The preferential traveler must travel directly to the designated destination and return without diverting to other directions. To ensure system transparency, relevant ministries will annually submit the list of winning institutions to transport companies.
An educator planning a trip will obtain a special certificate from their institution and, based on it, issue the ticket at the reduced price. This innovation, while serving the cultural enrichment of our teachers, is also expected to further strengthen the healthy competitive environment among educational institutions.
