A heart-stopping incident occurred at a methane gas filling station located in the Boysun district of Surxondaryo region. On June 28, 2025, at around 7:15 AM, a strong explosion suddenly occurred while a Nexia model light vehicle was being filled with methane fuel.
As a result of this catastrophic event that took place during the gas filling process, one citizen sustained severe bodily injuries and, unfortunately, passed away before reaching the hospital. Although official information about the driver's identity and age has not yet been disclosed, the incident has caused a significant stir among the public.
Videos circulating on social media show that the explosion was so powerful that the roof and rear parts of the Nexia were completely torn apart, and the vehicle itself was almost unrecognizable. It has been noted that the body parts were scattered across the area of the methane station, and although no fire broke out after the explosion, the timely intervention of the station staff and nearby citizens prevented the tragedy from escalating further.
Currently, law enforcement agencies, along with relevant specialists, are conducting technical and forensic analyses at the scene. The gas station has been temporarily closed, and security measures have been intensified there. Although no official statement has been made regarding the incident yet, it is expected that legal assessments will be provided by the relevant authorities after the investigations are completed.
It should be noted that in recent years, such explosions occurring in methane gas pipelines and stations have not only caused material damage but also resulted in human casualties. Strict adherence to safety regulations in the energy sector and avoiding the use of fuel systems that have not undergone technical inspections are crucial not only for the driver but also for the safety of those around them.
Responsible agencies are once again urging the public and drivers to exercise caution and to fill methane fuel only at reliable, technically sound stations. Regular checks on the condition of fuel equipment and adherence to the service life of methane cylinders in personal vehicles are considered important factors.
The exact cause of the incident will be determined after the technical experts' conclusions. The Zamin.uz editorial team expresses its deep condolences to the relatives of the citizen who lost their life in this tragedy
