According to the Statistics Agency, a total of 18,387 light vehicles were imported to Uzbekistan from January to May 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The total value of these vehicles amounted to 325.3 million dollars, which is approximately 4.3 trillion soums. More than 9,700 of the imported vehicles are electric cars.
The cars were mainly imported from the following countries: 15,800 from China, 1,800 from South Korea, 168 from India, 122 from Japan, 82 from the USA, and 260 from other countries. These figures indicate that China holds a leading position in supplying cars, especially electric vehicles, to Uzbekistan.
Moreover, there is a noticeable increase in interest and demand for electric vehicles in the country. This indicates the growing importance of environmentally friendly and modern means of transportation.
It is also emphasized that there are measures in place by the government to support and promote electric vehicles.
