This was reported by Kursiv Media. During a presentation dedicated to the development of digital technologies, it was announced to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev that the country's startups have attracted 70 million dollars in venture investments.
Additionally, more than 40,000 young people working in the IT sector are receiving high salaries. The number of IT Park residents has exceeded 2,800, with 752 of them being foreign specialists.
It was stated in the presentation that Uzbekistan has risen 17 places in the international index in the field of artificial intelligence, securing the first position in Central Asia. Furthermore, the country is considered a leader among CIS countries in terms of growth rate in the telecommunications sector.
Development plans related to the sector were presented to the President until 2026. According to them, the level of digitization of public services is expected to reach 70 percent, and the volume of the IT services market is projected to increase to 100 trillion soums.
Next year, the country is planned to rise from 63rd to 55th place in the e-government index. The presentation also emphasized the importance of the benefits created for relocants to work in Uzbekistan and the need to create favorable conditions for foreign companies in the regions.
These measures will serve to further develop the country's IT sector.
