The Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kuwait, Ayub Yunusov, held extensive negotiations with the Iraqi Ambassador Al-Manhal as-Sofi. The meeting discussed issues related to further developing cultural and economic ties between the two countries.
In particular, the participation of Iraqi representatives in the international exhibition "Uzbekistan's Cultural Heritage – the Heritage of All Humanity," to be held in Tashkent on the eve of the opening ceremony of the Center for Islamic Civilization, was specifically addressed. Additionally, the possibilities of showcasing a manuscript of the famous Islamic scholar Fakhr al-Islam Bazdavi's work "Usul al-Bazdaviy," preserved in the "Awqaf al-Ummah" library in Baghdad, at the exhibition in Tashkent were discussed.
During the meeting, a number of specific initiatives were proposed to elevate trade and economic relations between the two countries to a new level. These included organizing an Uzbekistan-Iraq investment forum, holding an exhibition of Uzbek products, signing a memorandum of understanding between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, and establishing a business council.
Furthermore, a new memorandum on cooperation in the field of tourism is also planned to be adopted. Iraqi Ambassador Al-Manhal as-Sofi stated that he is personally responsible for ensuring that these issues are thoroughly studied and supported by the relevant ministries and agencies of Iraq.
