Starting from August 1, 2025, in Uzbekistan, payments for waste collection services will be linked to electricity payments. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the new regulation, if residents and subscribers do not pay their debts for waste services on time, they will also be unable to make payments for electricity. The Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development provided official information about this change.
This system will be implemented for waste debts that arise after July 1, 2025, starting from August 1. Thus, unpaid old debts until June 30, 2025, will not fall under the new regulation.
According to the new law, by the third day of each month, information about delinquent subscribers for waste services will be sent from the "Clean Space" electronic billing system to the system of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC. After that, on the fifth day, debtors will receive an SMS notification via the short number 2100 without delay.
After the SMS is sent, citizens will be given an additional five-day grace period. If the debt is not paid within this period, the ability to make payments for electricity will be temporarily restricted.
Once the debt is paid, this restriction will be automatically lifted. This regulation aims to enhance discipline in waste service payments.
Companies providing sanitation services will be responsible for accuracy and fairness in calculating payments. If the service is not provided on time, unfair payments will not be collected from citizens.
The agency also reminded the public that proposals and complaints regarding waste services can be submitted 24 hours a day via the short number "1205". This allows citizens to report their issues while also having the opportunity to monitor service quality.
In conclusion, the new regulation encourages the public to make timely payments for waste. This will not only help clean the environment but also strengthen economic discipline.
Every payment made is a step towards a clean and sustainable environment
