London police removed an activist who was a supporter of Palestine from the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster.
The person holding the Palestinian flag entered the area where the British Parliament is located on the morning of March 8. He quickly climbed onto the scaffolding and climbed several meters along the wall of Big Ben, only then attracting the attention of the police.
At some point, he took off his shoes to climb to the top of the tower. However, he injured his feet, leaving blood stains on the stone wall.
The activist went live on Instagram, expressing his protest against "police oppression and state violence".
Throughout the day, he negotiated with the police and stated that he would only come down "on his own terms". He threatened to climb higher, putting his life at risk if anyone approached him.

As a result of the incident, Westminster Bridge was closed, and all tours in the parliamentary area were canceled. A group of people gathered in the enclosed area in front of Big Ben, chanting slogans such as "Freedom for Palestine" and "You are a hero," according to the BBC.
Police managed to persuade the activist to come down using a fire extinguishing crane after midnight. According to The Independent, the man spent 16 hours on the tower. He is now in custody.
