Wild wolf attacks woman in Hamburg, Germany
An attack carried out by a wild wolf in the city of Hamburg, Germany has sparked heated debates between animal rights activists and official representatives. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is reported that the wild animal broke into a marketplace and attacked a local woman. At the time of the incident, it is assumed that the wolf bit the woman's face as she was trying to open the door.
The injured woman was taken to the hospital due to her injuries and received necessary medical care. After this incident, the animal was quickly captured and placed in a special animal protection center.
Katarina Fegebank, the senator for environmental affairs of Hamburg, emphasized that this is the first such incident in the last decades. According to her, such events could negatively affect the process of restoring the wolf population in the future.
She also noted that if the animal is released again, there is a risk of new attacks occurring around the city. However, animal protection activists interpret the event differently and doubt that the wolf actually bit the woman.
Based on witnesses' statements, they emphasize that the wild animal jumped at the woman but did not bite her. According to a businessman at the marketplace, the wolf may have simply struck the woman's face with its paw.
According to the activists' objections, if the injuries were truly severe, the injured woman would not have been treated merely on an outpatient basis. Therefore, they demand the animal be quickly released back into nature.
