
On July 23, the third round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place at the Chirogon Palace in Istanbul. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This meeting lasted less than an hour, and according to information provided by the news agencies of both sides, several important issues were discussed during the negotiations. According to Ukrainian representative Rustem Umerov, at the end of the negotiations, a proposal was made to hold a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia with the participation of Recep Tayyip Erdogʻan and Donald Trump.
The Ukrainian side is demanding a complete ceasefire and emphasizes its readiness for peace negotiations. Russian representative Vladimir Medinskiy stated that they are ready to discuss many issues at the meeting.
He emphasized the necessity of developing the terms of the agreement and setting common goals. Additionally, Russia proposed to hand over more prisoners to Ukraine regarding the exchange of military captives.
The Russian side also announced its readiness to hand over the bodies of military casualties to Ukraine. Issues of joint military prisoner exchanges and humanitarian aid were also discussed during the negotiations.
The Ukrainian side proposed to establish working groups operating online in the political, humanitarian, and military fields. Russia expressed interest in the investigative process to strengthen mutual relations and for new strategic actions.
According to the current situation, the Russia-Ukraine negotiations may move to a fourth round in the near future. These negotiations encompass the possibility of reducing or, conversely, escalating the conflicts between the two sides.
At the same time, this process holds significant importance in international security matters and may lead to a new phase.
