The Palestinian HAMAS movement has rejected the agreement proposed by mediators to cease hostilities and release hostages in the Gaza Strip, according to Reuters. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
HAMAS is demanding further improvements to the agreement. They are asking for new mechanisms to be introduced to make the prisoner exchange process logical and effective.
Additionally, a guarantee for Israel to halt military operations is also being demanded. According to agency sources, HAMAS has requested the inclusion of a clause that would prevent the resumption of war against Israel if an agreement is not reached during the 60-day ceasefire period.
This clause aims to ensure the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. HAMAS is also demanding the permanent operation of the Rafah crossing point.
On July 6, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, HAMAS and Israel resumed negotiations in Doha regarding the cessation of hostilities and the release of hostages. Currently, the parties have not been able to agree on all the clauses of the agreement.
If an agreement is reached, the parties will strive to resolve mutual disputes and conflicts and to strengthen peace
