Sky News reported that the UK Foreign Secretary David Lemmy may be fined for fishing without a license. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident took place at the minister's unofficial residence in Kent county, namely the Shevening-House pool. Lemmy was there together with US Vice President Jay Di Vens and his children.
The minister himself did not catch any fish, but the Vens family caught several fish. According to UK law, every person over 13 years old must obtain a state license to fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish, smelt, or eel.
Realizing he had violated the rule, Lemmy himself contacted the official authorities. The maximum fine for fishing without a license is set at up to £2,500.
So far, there is no information about any official measures taken against the minister. This situation demonstrates the strictness of the laws and their equal application to all citizens, including high-ranking officials.
