This incident that occurred in China shocked not only the local but also the international community. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The “Thaiger” publication reported that a 17-year-old girl sold her 19-year-old boyfriend to scammers in Myanmar for $14,000 as a slave. This case once again showed the negative consequences that youthful love and trust can lead to.
According to the information, the boy and girl met at a billiard hall. During the conversation, the girl boasted about her wealthy parents in Myanmar and promised to help the boy find a job.
Believing this promise, the boy traveled to Bangkok in February together with his girlfriend. After reaching the Thailand-Myanmar border, a quarrel broke out between them.
At that moment, armed individuals attacked the boy, seized his phone and passport. For the next four months, the boy was held captive and constantly tortured: his hair was shaved off, and he was forced to work in online scams.
If he did not comply with the rules, he was beaten on the waist with an iron rod. As a result of these tortures, the boy lost more than 10 kilograms and partially lost his hearing ability.
The kidnappers contacted the boy’s family and demanded compensation of $48,000. After the required amount was collected within four months, the boy was released.
During this time, the girl was in Thailand and was arrested after returning to China. She is currently on trial for fraud and human trafficking.
The victim’s sister recalled the incident, saying, “He was only 17 years old. Who would have thought he would commit such cruelty?
Such disgusting acts are beyond reason,” she said. This case once again highlighted the urgent issue of trust, love, and dangerous relationships among young people.
The need for deep reflection on moral education, personal safety, and family relationships increases even more after such tragic events.
