Unique Karakat cats in the world are being bred under the supervision of Ganna Kuzmina. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Karakat breed is a hybrid derived from a domestic cat and a wild caracal, and its main breeder and creator is Ganna Kuzmina, founder of the Vipleo company. According to Kuzmina, she created the world's first official Karakat breed, aiming to develop a genetically stable, sociable, healthy, and behaviorally balanced hybrid that can interact well with humans.
Ganna Kuzmina began her breeding work in 2010 in Ukraine with serval, ocelot, and caracal breeds. A year later, the Vipleo company was established and became a leading brand in the development of the Karakat breed.
Karakat cats stand out with their distinctive appearance — ears typical of a caracal, a predatory facial structure, and unusual colors make them unique. The most important aspect is their sociability and ability to form close relationships with humans.
Karakats love water, adapt quickly to walks, and can be taken on a leash. According to Kuzmina, the main focus during the breeding process was on the genetic stability of Karakats and their healthy lifestyle.
As a result of years of work, they have not only an exotic appearance but also strong health and balanced behavior. The Karakat breed was first exhibited in Uzbekistan at the international “Kashmir-2018” exhibition held in Tashkent.
At this event, Kuzmina provided information about the behavior, care, and safe keeping methods of Karakats. Local specialists and guests asked many questions with great interest, making it an important experience for her professional activity.
On the same day, the “Dunyo bo‘ylab” TV channel prepared a special report about Karakats. Today, the Vipleo brand is widely recognized worldwide.
In 2020, the company was the first to create blue-colored Karakats, and in 2021, a new stage was reached in Karakat breeding. In 2022, due to the war, activities were relocated to Florida, USA, where they further developed.
According to Kuzmina, the rarest Karakats are born and raised under their supervision. In the future, Kuzmina plans not only to focus on breeding but also to collaborate as a scientific expert with veterinary clinics and organizations.
She provides advice on the health, behavior, nutrition, and legal issues of hybrid cats. The main goal is to make Karakats genetically more stable and socially adaptable breed.
Additionally, she plans to expand international cooperation, including with Central Asia and Uzbekistan. Kuzmina considers the exhibition held in Uzbekistan an important milestone and expresses her intention to continue developing cooperation with colleagues there in the future.
