
On August 26, 2025, the Russian army launched heavy attacks on the city of Dobropole in Donetsk region and the surrounding areas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of artillery and aviation strikes, 148 workers in the mine were trapped underground because the power supply was cut off, preventing them from exiting. According to the RBK-Ukraine news agency, the attacks caused serious problems with the mines' electricity supply.
Consequently, workers operating in the coal mines became trapped underground. According to local residents and sources on social media, attacks also occurred in the cities of Dobropole, Belozerskoye, Annovka, Iverskoye, and Svyatogorovka.
In particular, there are reports that at least four aerial bombs were dropped on the city of Dobropole. Rescue workers are currently taking emergency measures to prevent miners from being left underground.
Working against time, efforts continue to reduce the number of casualties. Despite the difficult external conditions, rescuers continue to carry out their duties.
