Protest Against Trump's Guard Decision in Washington

Thousands of citizens in the US capital Washington protested against President Donald Trump's decision to deploy National Guard soldiers on the city streets. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The protesters called the troops "invaders" and marched with slogans such as "Trump must resign." Last month, Trump ordered the deployment of troops in the capital to reduce crime.

Additionally, he placed the local police under federal control and involved immigration services. However, according to official data, the city's crime rate has dropped to its lowest level in the last 30 years.

The Washington Attorney General considered Trump's decision unconstitutional and filed a lawsuit. Nevertheless, some citizens emphasized that the troops are necessary to ensure security.

The city mayor acknowledged the assistance of federal forces but expressed hope that the National Guard soldiers would withdraw soon. Currently, thousands of soldiers are patrolling the capital's streets, and their duty may continue until the end of November.
