A new impeachment process has begun against French President Emmanuel Macron. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In parliament, 104 deputies supported this initiative and officially included the issue of no confidence in the republic’s president on the agenda. According to Mathilde Panot, leader of the “France Insoumise” party, after mass protests held across the country on September 10, 104 deputies, together with ecologists and communists, signed an initiative to announce impeachment against Macron.
According to this, the president should resign from his position. On September 10, large protests were held across France under the slogan “Close Everything.”
The protesters criticized the government’s economic policy and opposed budget cuts. During the protests, streets were blocked, trash bins were set on fire, and clashes with the police occurred.
In the parliamentary vote, 364 deputies voted against, while 194 expressed no confidence in the government. As a result, Prime Minister François Bayrou’s government resigned.
After the protests, citizens held mass gatherings and street celebrations in many cities across the country. This indicates that the political situation has attracted the attention of the population.
Currently, the development of the political crisis in France and whether Macron remains in office or resigns is being closely monitored not only by the local but also by the international community.
