A 30-year-old man named Pakin living in Udon Thani province, Thailand, deliberately stole an expensive ring and wanted to get himself arrested. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He entered a jewelry store and asked the sellers, "If I leave with this ring, will I be arrested?" After hearing the answer, he took the ring and fearlessly left the store.
The store employees immediately caught him and handed him over to the police. Pakin did not resist and admitted that he committed the crime intentionally.
During the interrogation, he said that he had been imprisoned before, that life outside was difficult for him, and that he preferred the strict order in prison. He stated that due to family problems and drug addiction, he had become isolated from society.
Therefore, without hesitation, he chose the criminal path to return to prison. Since the store owner did not file a complaint against him, he was not sentenced for theft, but the police took into account his drug addiction, charged him, and sent him to a rehabilitation center.
Experts emphasize that such cases indicate a person's mental problems and difficulties in social adaptation. If the support and psychological assistance system in society is not strong, people may even consider prison preferable to freedom.
