A man living in Aqmola region deliberately committed a crime with the aim of receiving free food and clothing while in prison. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the “Nur.kz” publication. According to court information, this individual was brought to trial for the third time for spreading false reports about terrorism.
In previous cases in 2019 and 2023, he was also punished for similar false information. In August of this year, while working as a shepherd, the man called the “112” emergency service and falsely reported that a bomb had been planted at the bus station in Astana.
When special services arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, this information was not confirmed. In court, the defendant fully admitted his guilt and stated that he committed such an act due to having no permanent place of residence and to obtain free food and clothing in prison.
Taking into account his previous convictions and serious remarks, the court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment in a strict-regime colony. This case once again reminded of the importance of knowing the law and personal responsibility.
It was also emphasized that misuse of free services and privileges can lead to criminal consequences. The law applies equally and fairly to every citizen.
