Trump stated that he respects Erdoğan and that he can influence the direction of the war, but so far he has maintained neutrality. The US president noted that the Turkish leader is respected not only in his own country but also in Ukraine and Russia.
He specifically highlighted that Erdoğan has built a strong army and is effectively using American weapons. Furthermore, Trump emphasized that he knows Putin closely, just like himself.
