
The Chinese court has issued a verdict against members of the famous Ming mafia operating in Myanmar. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A total of 39 people were considered during the court proceedings, of whom 11 were sentenced to death. The remaining members of the mafia family were also subjected to severe punishments.
Five individuals received suspended death sentences, 11 were sentenced to life imprisonment, and the rest were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from five to twenty-four years. The Ming family had been running illegal casinos, drug trafficking, and fraud centers in the city of Laukkay, Myanmar.
Their leader committed suicide two years ago after rebels took control of the territory. According to court materials, the family has been involved in various crimes since 2015, earning billions of dollars in illegal income.
Through the mafia-controlled gambling houses, they negatively impacted China and regional countries. The court rulings demonstrate strict measures against crime and are part of efforts to ensure the rule of law in the region.
