In the United States, 61-year-old Craig Fogt ate two peacocks as a result of a dispute with his neighbors. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This incident was regarded as cruelty to animals, and the man was imprisoned for committing a crime. His neighbor described in a letter how Fogt cut off and ate the birds' heads.
Following this, Fogt admitted in his letter that he committed this act intentionally because his neighbor kept peacocks. According to the laws of the state of Florida, strict penalties are established for such cases.
Fogt may face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Currently, the issue of strengthening penalties for such crimes is also under consideration.
Court documents indicate that Fogt has previously committed more than 40 violations. Experts emphasize that his case should be treated as a repeated offense, warranting harsher penalties.
This incident is expected to influence the tightening of laws against animal cruelty in the United States. Therefore, the issue of increasing accountability for such crimes is being seriously discussed.
