KFC and Pizza Hut operations in Turkey have ceased
The famous American fast food chain — KFC has closed all its restaurants in Turkey.

The reason given is that the franchise owner “İsh Gıda A.Sh.” has declared itself bankrupt. The company has a debt of nearly 7.7 billion Turkish lira, which is equivalent to 214 million dollars.

Among the closed locations are 283 KFCs and 254 Pizza Huts, resulting in over 7000 workers being left unemployed. A decline in sales and boycott movements led to bankruptcy.

KFC first started operations in Turkey in 1989
