An American woman, Linn White, defended herself independently in a court case and won the case using ChatGPT and Perplexity artificial intelligence tools. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to NBC News, Linn rented a home in a trailer park in Los Angeles but delayed her rent payments. According to local laws, rent payments could be deferred for up to 12 months, but the lawyer representing her lost the case in court.
After that, Linn decided to file an appeal, analyzed court documents with the help of ChatGPT, and identified procedural errors. Then she studied the relevant laws through the Perplexity Pro platform and further strengthened her defense.
As a result, the court ruling was in her favor, the eviction notice was canceled, and she was relieved of a $55,000 fine and $18,000 in rent arrears. At the same time, Linn saved over $73,000 in potential legal fees.
Experts emphasize that the main role in ensuring justice is played by people, not artificial intelligence.
