The New York Times reports that serious discussions about a new military aid package for Ukraine at the White House are "virtually nonexistent," relying on supporters of Kyiv in Congress.
It has become clear that European countries have not received a definitive answer to whether the US will continue to share intelligence with Ukraine. The publication notes that recently the White House has been "thinking more about what it can get rather than what it can give" in relations with Ukraine.
Just a day ago, US President Donald Trump stated that if negotiations to resolve the conflict do not yield results, he may halt military aid to Kyiv. The State Department also made it clear that if both sides are not willing to cooperate in efforts to resolve the conflict, Washington will not take the lead.
According to The Economist, those around Trump are "tired" of Europe's efforts to assist Ukraine.
Previously, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced that in 2025, the European Union would provide 15 percent more military aid to Ukraine compared to previous years.
